When Prosilient Systems Inc. set out for our FUTO journey, we had more questions than answers. As a startup dedicated to improving care for geriatric cancer patients, the stakes were high, and the road ahead seemed both thrilling and daunting. Little did we know, this journey would redefine our approach to innovation and growth.
Our adventure began in the whirlwind of New York City. After landing at JFK, we dove straight into the city’s vibrant energy. From navigating the bustling streets to discovering a fantastic Chinese restaurant that quickly became our favorite, NYC’s electric atmosphere was the perfect kickoff to our journey. Next up was Texas, where the heat was as intense as the experiences we were about to have.
At the FUTO home, we found more than just a place to stay; we found a second home. This was where we spent crucial months connecting with a network of innovators and visionaries. It was here that we delved deep into the startup life—navigating the intricacies of the FDA approvals , building our product, and learning from innovators in the open-source space.
This was all possible with the belief, ambition, and trust of Eron, a successful SV founder and investor. Even with all his success and fortune, he made humility and generosity his trademarks. His commitment to open-source technology and philanthropy provided us with a new perspective on our mission. Eron’s example reminded us that staying grounded and dedicated is just as important as the innovations we strive to bring to life.
As two Pakistani guys far from home, we found solace in our Trader Joe’s escapades. Almost every other day, we’d wander the aisles, hunting for new ingredients to spark our culinary creativity. This little ritual became our escape from the stress of startup life. Eventually, we introduced Eron and the FUTO team to our food, serving up biryani with layers of rich flavors and koftay that felt like a hug from home. It was more than just a meal—it was our way of sharing a piece of our culture, turning our journey into a truly memorable experience.
Throughout our journey, every interaction, feedback session, and piece of advice was a building block in our growth. For the first time, we had the opportunity to engage with healthcare professionals who were also entrepreneurs.
These conversations were eye-opening, revealing a unique blend of clinical insight and entrepreneurial spirit that differed significantly from our previous encounters with either traditional entrepreneurs or doctors. We connected with leading experts from Emory, GCMI, Johnson & Johnson, and various other figures in the healthcare sector. These experiences were instrumental in refining our platform and enhancing our approach to tackling critical challenges in geriatric cancer care.
Our FUTO adventure was a whirlwind of vibrant cities, surprising encounters, and eye-opening insights. From New York’s energy to Texas’s heat and inspiring talks with entrepreneurial healthcare pioneers at conferences and events, every moment was a revelation. Working with Eron, and connecting with innovators at Emory, GCMI, and Johnson & Johnson transformed our view on making a real impact.
This journey has only fueled our excitement for what’s next as we’re more determined than ever to push boundaries and drive innovation in geriatric cancer care.
